Steven Hitchens: Album Launch

Steven Hitchens is rather a special unsigned artist we enjoy writing about, which was probably due to the fact that Trisha Jones did a review of Stevens’s debut single “Whoops” back in November 2008 and Gary Vine also interviewed Steven soon after his debut launch.

We have also witnessed the launch of Steven’s 2nd single “Lets Talk” during February 2009.

Eight months later Gary Vine is here again doing another write up on Steven, this time is probably reflecting Stevens most important launch and that his third single “Bachelor” and most importantly his debut album “Up and Coming” which both was released on 6th July 2009.

Steven has definitely entered a new arena of multi styled music within his album and when you listen to all his songs they immediately make an inspiring connection.

His brand new album contains 12 unique tracks:

  1. WhoopsIdentity Crisis
  2. Bachelor
  3. Taking Off
  4. Let’s Talk
  5. Motion Picture Man
  6. Passionate
  7. Breaking Mirrors
  8. Whoops
  9. Ride Again
  10. Skin Deep
  11. All Blown Over
  12. Angels & Demons

One of my plans during writing this review was to pin point my favourite song on the album, which listening to the tracks now I’m finding very hard to choose my favourite track.

I have a vision of going in one of Torquay’s nightclubs with a bursting dance floor and then “Ride Again” and / or “Let’s Talk” broadcasts from the loud speakers and the revellers on the dance floor go mad to the tune and rhythm.

The tracks “Passionate” and “Breaking Mirrors” reminds me of the type of slow song that would be good to finish of a night, or even a track that could be played at a wedding function to be used as the happy couples first dance.

I don’t know where to place the track “Motion Picture Man”. The track as a smooth style associated with it, from the lyrics, the singing and they way the music is played. I could imagine Robbie Williams performing a similar song.

As an overall objective opinion of Stevens Album I give it a clear 10 marks. The composure of the music and Steven’s style of singing is very professional and the standard in which he presents his music on the album is definitely in a world class league.

Steven is the type of singer that keeps pushing himself up a level every time he releases a new single, video and album. He will definitely keep strengthening his presence in thee unsigned music arena and I’m really just waiting for him to drop me a email or give me a call to say a major label has just signed him up.

Not forgetting that Steven is also launching his third single “Bachelor” which is also featured on his debut album. Bachelor is an up tempo song that will be highly suited to the club scene.
