Backstreet Boys – Paying Tribute to a Career-Starter

Backstreet’s back, alright! It was only appropriate for the boy band that shook the world in the late ’90s to be a part of the craze that started it all, and the Backstreet Boys (minus Kevin Richardson) fit right in as they celebrated the pop culture delight that is (or rather, was) MTV’s “Total Request Live” last week. The Backstreet Boys, busy jet-setting the nation on their current string of tour dates, took time out of their exhausting schedule to perform at the “TRL Finale” last week, making the now-20-something women’s eyes mist as nostalgia took over when the quartet performed their early hit “I Want it That Way” for the energetic crowd.

Last week’s “TRL Finale” marked the end of a 10-year domination of pop music on air that all began with the growing teen pop craze of the ’90s, launching the careers of Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, *NSYNC and the Backstreet Boys. “TRL” was one of MTV”s most influential franchises, bringing in celebrities and fanatic crowds alike, and the show’s finale included many of those stars in the hours-long performance, making the program go out with a bang. Celebrities like Eminem, Beyonce, Kid Rock, Justin Timberlake, Diddy, Nelly, Snoop Dogg, Ludacris, Fall Out Boy and more were all present at the MTV bash, and former VJs like Carson Daly, Vanessa Minnillo and Hilarie Burton were all brought back to help host the program’s very last show. The only star from the “TRL” era missing at the show seemed to be Britney Spears, whose video “?Baby One More Time” will forever be considered a “TRL” commodity.

Emerging in the overwhelming tidal wave of the teen pop era, the Backstreet Boys blew up “TRL” request lines in 1998 with songs like “Quit Playin’ Games (With My Heart)” and “As Long as You Love Me.” The incredible boy band started with cousins and Kentucky natives Kevin Richardson and Brian Littrell, who practiced Boys II Men-type songs before meeting up with the Orlando-hailed Howie Dorough and A.J. McLean and New Yorker Nick Carter, inking a deal with Jive Records in 1994. The Backstreet Boys tested their very new boy band approach in Europe before coming back over to the U.S., releasing their debut album Backstreet Boys in 1997. From this point on, the Backstreet Boys were huge. Selling millions of copies of all of their albums and selling out Backstreet Boys tickets to screaming throngs of teenage girls across the nation, the five-piece boy band saw dozens of platinum hits, reaching number ones on the Billboard charts with close to every song they released in the late ’90s and early ’00s including “I Want It That Way,” “Shape of My Heart” and “Show Me the Meaning of Being Lonely.”

The boy band craze of the teen pop dream eventually died down, but the Backstreet Boys persisted through it all. Despite lawsuits over royalties, Littrell undergoing heart surgery, McLean’s stint in rehab and Richardson quietly stepping away from the group, the Backstreet Boys still continue to pull their dance-pop thread through the needle of changing times, releasing Unbreakable in 2007 and thereafter embarking on a national tour. If you missed your chance to see these energetic heartthrobs take over the stage in the ’90s, get concert tickets from http://www.stubhub.com/backstreet-boys-tickets before it’s too late!

Oasis – A Brand New Stage

The sibling rockers have been with each other for years, 36 years to be exact, since Liam, the youngest of three Gallagher siblings, was born. The rocking two have been working together since 1993 and now after almost two decades together, older brother and lead confidant to Liam wants his younger bro to start recording on his own. The Gallagher rockers each have their own ideas about what’s going to happen at the end of their world tour, which is currently trekking through North America with a summer UK tour in the mix as well, as he declared plans to separate himself from the group dynamic after their road adventures and make his own album. So if you have been putting off seeing these Manchester natives perform live on stage, catch Oasis tickets now before the band heads in different directions!

For years the quartet has shed rumors that either Noel or Liam would leave the group to support their own musical interests. Now, according to BBC Radio 1, he plans on recording a “separate” release from Oasis, and is encouraging Liam to do the same. “Liam’s always the first person to start rushing things. I think if he wants to get back in the saddle that quick, he should do it for himself. He’s got tons and tons of songs?I don’t specifically put songs aside. There are songs that have just fallen by the wayside that are still great but have missed their moment. Like ‘Stop the Clocks’ for instance,” Noel told BBC Radio. “That needs to come out soon. At the end of this tour, I’d like everyone to do something separately. I think it would be interesting for our fans.” If you’re planning on becoming a fan of the separation of the Gallagher boys, remain up to date with all the best rocker tickets at http://www.stubhub.com/oasis-tickets.

“I also think because we’ve ended up with this album at a place where we were working to for the last five years. It’s kind of like, ‘What do we do next?’” continued Noel. Well, it looks like Noel already has a list of a few singles with an Oasis backing, including “Revolution Song/Solve My Mystery” and “I Wanna Live in a Dream (In My Record Machine).” Noel has always been garnered for his embrace of the typical rock persona ? complete with massive amounts of drugs, wild antics and a few illegitimate children. Now, after years with the group that jet set this behavior, Noel is finally announcing that his family has made him more grounded. Noel’s son Donovan have been strutting around California recently, parading their new family appeal, along with mom Sara MacDonald. While Oasis has continued to see success, this change in pace may make the group’s dynamic different, and thus a change might be for the better.

Oasis’ seventh studio album, Dig Out Your Soul, was released this October following 2005’s Don’t Believe the Truth. The North American jaunt began December 3rd in Oakland, California and will continue through the States until December 20th in Fairfax, Virginia. The first single, “The Shock of the Lightning,” was “written dead fast,” according to a post on the group’s website. “And recorded dead fast. [The single] basically is the demo. And it has retained its energy. And there’s a lot to be said for that, I think. The first time you record something is always the best.” The single has already hit The Billboard Hot 100, the Hot Modern Rock Tracks and the Hot Digital Songs charts.

Lily Allen – New Lily Allen Tops Charts Across the Pond

English songstress Lily Allen has notched her second U.K. number one single with “The Fear,” her first being her smash debut single “Smile” in the summer of 2006. Allen’s sophomore album It’s Not Me It’s You will be released February 9 via Regal/EMI across the pond and Capitol in the States. The 23-year-old Allen, who is under near-constant tabloid speculation, recorded the 12-track album at Eagle Rock Studio in Los Angeles with producer/songwriter Greg Kurstin, who also helmed Allen’s debut album. Among the dozen tracks on It’s Not Me It’s You are the country-tinged track “Not Fair,” “He Wasn’t There” (“he” referring to her comedian father who was largely absent from her childhood) and “I Don’t Know,” in which Allen tackles her tabloid persona.

The release date of Allen’s sophomore album was pushed back, a fact that the songstress blamed on EMI’s takeover by the private equity firm Terra Firma. Allen previously told http://Billboard.com that she wanted to “work with one person from start to finish and make it [the album] one body of work,” and she continued to say, “I wanted it to feel like it had some sort of integrity. I think I’ve grown up a bit as a person and I hope it reflects that.”

A true product of the technological era, Lily Allen launched her singing career on her MySpace page, which she let fly in 2005 and loaded with demo tapes that debuted her signature sound, which walks a fine line between bratty and sweet. The daughter of Welsh comedian Keith Allen and movie producer Alison Owen, Lily Allen first turned to music as a way to cope with her family’s nomadic lifestyle when she was growing up-the English rose attended 13 different schools between the ages of five and 15! Allen was a rebellious teen with musical influences ranging from the Happy Mondays to T. Rex and when she was 14 she ran away from home in order to attend England’s famed Glastonbury Music Festival. The following year, Allen dropped out of school to pursue a career in music and the rest is, as they say, history.

Lily Allen signed a record deal with Regal/Parlophone just one year after the cheeky singer launched her now-famous MySpace page and a talented production team consisting of Mark Ronson (with whom she had previously collaborated with for a cover of Kaiser Chief’s “Oh My God” on her sophomore mixtape), Futurecoat and Greg Kurstin. A limited edition of Allen’s infectious single “LDN” was released in the spring of 2006 followed by “Smile” and “LDN” later that summer. After her debut album Alright, Still was released abroad, Allen hit the road on a tour spanning the U.S., U.K., Japan and Australia around the same time that the album arrived in the States. Plans for another round of touring in support of It’s Not Me It’s You are in the works so check out http://www.stubhub.com/lily-allen-event-tickets for Lily Allen tickets.

Foo Fighters – A Neil Diamond Tribute

It won’t be at a dueling piano bar, but renditions of “Sweet Caroline” are sure to be heard this weekend, anyway. The Grammy Awards are to be held on Feb. 8, but two days prior to the glitz and glamour the man of the evening will be the one and only Neil Diamond. Diamond was named the 2009 MusiCares Person of the Year, and the legendary vocalist will be honored for the recognition Feb. 6 at the Grammy Week gala dinner and concert.

Six-time Grammy Award winners the Foo Fighters may seem like unlikely prospects to pay tribute to this contemporary soft rock singer/songwriter, but Dave Grohl and Co. will take the lead in tackling a tribute concert chalk full of Neil Diamond classics, from “Sweet Caroline” to “I’ve Been This Way Before.” The Foo Fighters will take the stage in a Diamond-filled night alongside other music heavyweights like Josh Groban, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Kid Rock, Coldplay, the Jonas Brothers, Jennifer Hudson and more, all of whom will be performing Neil Diamond songs in the concert. This star-studded production is just one part of the night’s activities, and a charity auction will also take place the same night, featuring Diamond’s own 1956 Ford Thunderbird as one of the auctioned items, as well as a signed guitar by Eric Clapton, Bob Dylan harmonica, Janis Joplin autographed photograph and more.

The Foo Fighters haven’t been at the forefront of the music industry as long as Neil Diamond, but this Seattle-based quartet has made its time in the spotlight count. The band’s frontman Dave Grohl got his start in the music industry as the drummer for Nirvana, but he formed the basis for the Foo Fighters in 1995 following Kurt Cobain’s death. The Foo Fighters formulated their music drawing from the scraps of Nirvana’s loud rock music and heavy guitar influence, and with the help of bassist Nate Mendel, drummer William Goldsmith (both formerly of Sunny Day Real Estate) and guitarist Pat Smear, the Foo Fighters started their rise to fame in the late ’90s, taking their moniker from a World War II secret force that researched UFOs.

Dave Grohl and his newly-gathered rock band started their famed career with the eponymously titled debut album in 1995, immediately sparking the radio-ready single “This Is a Call.” The Foo Fighters picked up steam from here, eventually scoring a platinum certification with Foo Fighters while continuing to heat up the charts with albums like 1997’s The Colour and the Shape, 1999’s There Is Nothing Left to Lose and 2002’s One by One. The Foo Fighters kept getting more and more famous with each album released, and in the early 2000s the Grammys started trickling down like a steady stream. The band picked up its first pair of Grammys in 2000 with the music video of “Learn to Fly” and the album There is Nothing Left to Lose, and the post-grunge rockers picked up another in 2002 with “All My Life.” Since then, the Foo Fighters have cleaned up at the Grammys three more times (in 2003 with One by One and 2007 with Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace and “The Pretender”) also spending copious amounts of time on the road with vivacious live performances. If you haven’t seen Dave Grohl and his crew get down and dirty in concert, get Foo Fighters tickets from http://www.stubhub.com/foo-fighters-tickets and enjoy the rock show of a lifetime.

Bruce Springsteen – Taking Over the Super Bowl

The Boss is once again commanding attention (whether he likes it or not). The Americana, working man’s crooner is all set to headline the Halftime Show at this year’s Super Bowl in Tampa Bay, Florida. Yes, football fans can hardly contain themselves and will likely grow even antsier as February 1st descends upon us. But aside from the tackles, impressive passes, first downs, second downs, kicks and touchdowns, there may be something even more exciting about having Springsteen work at possibly the biggest sporting event in the United States (we don’t have soccer after all). In fact, television presenters and pundits seem to billing the coming Super Bowl as a chance to see The Boss rather than as a chance to watch some football.

Granted we don’t know who the opposing teams will be, and perhaps Bruce Springsteen will be the main draw depending on exactly who the teams are. But TV networks are trying to pump as much interest into the Super Bowl as possible to draw in more viewers, after all the U.S. presidential election is?finally over. Of course, after all the mudslinging during the campaign, it’s hard to see how these football teams can create as much drama on the field, no matter how gruff and tough they might be. Not to worry, the Boss will get things going most likely with one of his signature songs, “Born to Run,” and we’ll see who takes the lead. For more information on the Super Bowl and Bruce Springsteen, be sure to check out http://www.stubhub.com/bruce-springsteen-tickets.

Bruce Springsteen is considered by many to be the savior of rock ‘n’ roll. A man who emerged as the blue collar singer, he captured the sentiments of the everyday American worker, giving folks all over the nation a reason to sing. Springsteen grew up in southern New Jersey, where a lot of the inspiration for his lyrical content comes from. He eventually formed the E Street Band as his backup group and they barnstormed the country, creating waves of nostalgia through every town that they passed through.

One of his first successful albums, Born to Run, reached the Top Ten on the charts and resulting in the Top 40 single of the same name. This was 1975 and fans had found their inspiration in Springsteen. It seemed that he had no where to go but up. The New Wave/Punk movement put a stop to his steady climb, however, and The Boss had to wait until the following decade to rally his base once again.

Born in the U.S.A. signaled that Springsteen was back, and in a big way. Released in June 1984, the title track became a popular reference to the Vietnam War, and the album spawned off seven more hits, all topping the charts. He subsequently embarked on a two year international tour that had Bruce Springsteen tickets selling out fast.

Bruce Springsteen may have risen from generations past, his hair may be graying slightly, his hipness factor may have slipped, but when it comes to rock n’ roll, there truly can only be one Boss and Springsteen will hang onto that title for generations to come.

Britney Spears – the Girl Behind the Music

Though it seems like the tabloid media has been dedicated to advertising the downfall of the ever popular pop mega star Britney Spears, few know her behind what is portrayed in the media. Some would even go so far as to say that her ex-husband and former backup dancer Kevin Federline has little to say about the former Musketeer. But with her 27th birthday celebrations in full gear this month (her actual birthday was December 2nd), an album release and a custody battle that has her children finally seeing their mommy, Ms. Spears is looking forward to the New Year with a whole new outlook. And just as the announcements can’t seem to get any better after a whirlwind of a year, Circus, the star’s sixth studio album, is getting promoted with a 2009 tour! So head on over to http://www.stubhub.com/britney-spears-tickets to get the next addition in the Britney Spears escalading comeback with your own Britney Spears tickets!

Though comeback rumors have been in full swing for months, the star has showed her withdrawal from her former self not in the amount of public appearances that she’s been racking up but in the effort that’s gone into them. One of the most publicized interviews since her breakdown this past year was Rolling Stone. Though the music magazine has interviewed the pop star several times since she first emerged, Jenny Eliscu (Rolling Stone’s interviewer) noted that there was a very specific list of topics that could not be addressed, including her recent psychotic break. The star was constantly surrounded by her company, Eliscu mentioned in a slew of interviews, and was more subdued than ever. Spears mentioned in the interview that more than ever she feels “like an old person now. I go to bed at, like, 9:30 every night, and I don’t’ go out or anything?” Quite a change from the former party-animal parent who was often spotted bearing an alcoholic beverage and without panties ? she’s now turned the volume way down. With a court ordered companion at all times, as demanded by her father, the singer has little, if any, legal rights to her financial fortune.

Though the blonde seems to be back in spirit, there is little that anyone can really understand about her life behind all the paparazzi, the security guards and the makeup. Just as Spears begins living out her return to the positive spotlight on her own terms, Federline is beginning to do the same thing, with a public interview vis-?-vis the day they met to the day she filed for divorce. Talking to People Magazine, the former rapper turned Daddy is making sure everyone knows that he “didn’t give her an ultimatum,” and that his biggest concern is their children. Though Spears has only made side comments regarding their marriage, she too deems her most accomplished moments as giving birth to Preston, 3, and Jayden, 2.

Nonetheless, she continues to spread her wealth in the form of television interviews and live performances in promotion of Circus, and after four years of stage hibernation, is returning in March for her North American tour. She’s already sped off to Europe for the first part of her Circus promotion, but will be whole heartedly welcomed back this spring.

Madonna – Material Girl For Gay Marriage

Madonna’s high-profile smooch with Britney Spears at the MTV Video Music Awards was enough to spark controversy in the entertainment industry for months to come back in 2003, yet five years later the legendary pop icon is still making waves with her stance on gay rights. Although not of the homosexual persuasion herself, Madonna has taken it upon herself to stand up for gay rights, most recently with California’s Proposition 8, which bans the previously-overturned legality of same-sex marriage in the state. California voters last week upheld the ban, and Madonna’s appearances on the West Coast for concerts came at a strikingly convenient time for the renowned edgy pop singer.

Joining the ranks of celebrities like Ellen DeGeneres, Brad Pitt, Lance Bass, Barbra Streisand, Melissa Etheridge, Steven Spielberg, Samuel L. Jackson and Pete Wentz, Madonna publicly denounced her views on California’s Prop 8, declaring to all those with Madonna tickets at a concert at Los Angeles’ Dodger Stadium last week, “If we can elect an African-American as president, we can support gay marriage! Defeat Prop 8! We will not give up!” This outspoken and controversial blast came as no surprise to anyone familiar with Madonna’s edgy ways, and the longtime pop icon continues her drive for gay marriage and rights even after the results from last week’s election came streaming in.

Madonna’s embracements of her sexuality and edgy public image are staples in her public persona, and have been ever since the performer’s penetration into the music industry back in the early 1980s. A Bay City, Michigan native, Madonna (whose full name is Madonna Louise Veronica Ciccone) first rocked the nation with 1982’s club hit “Everybody,” which she quickly followed up with “Physical Attraction” and “Holiday.” After releasing her debut album, Madonna’s second release Like a Virgin is what bolstered the pop vixen up into sheer mainstream success. Her sexy music videos and strong personality were the winds to Madonna’s back, and by 1985 the talented performer had seemingly reached the top of her music career with the crazily popular hit song “Material Girl.” Leaked nude photos of Madonna in the late ’80s only helped propel the singer’s image in the public realm, and Madonna continued pumping out hit singles and albums through the ’90s and into the ’00s, garnering number ones with songs like “Secret,” “Take a Bow,” “I’ll Remember,” “Deeper and Deeper,” “Fever,” “This Used to Be My Playground,” “Ray of Light,” “Beautiful Stranger,” “Music,” “American Life” and many, many more.

Aside from winning seven Grammy Awards in her highly successful career, Madonna has also seen fame in films, children’s books and several live performances, most recently hitting it big with the single “4 Minutes,” a collaboration with Justin Timberlake. Madonna’s performances often feature Timberlake and his ex Britney Spears, and you can see all the action live when you find concert tickets from http://www.stubhub.com/madonna-tickets/. Madonna’s most recent headlines include her divorce from husband Guy Ritchie, and her much-speculated relationship with baseball’s Alex Rodriguez have emerged but have not affected the incredible vocalist’s music career.

Britney Spears – Leave Her Alone

Britney Spears is in the news again. Bet you didn’t see that one coming. Spears is notorious for landing on numerous tabloid covers for a variety of different reasons, some of which include: a 48-hour Vegas marriage, a follow-up two year marriage to wannabe rapper Kevin Federline, the birth of her two sons, the custody battle over said sons, the teenage pregnancy of her sister, Jamie Lynn, as well as countless embarrassing public appearances, in which she may or may not have been completely clothed. Many people have just sort of grown accustomed to the Britney-Saga that has taken the media hostage, which begs the question: is there new news when it comes to Britney Spears, and do we really care? Nevertheless, in the world of the paparazzi and their oft-sleazy tabloid sponsors: any celebrity dish gets top story, even in the midst of a dilapidated economy. For more information about Britney Spears and other upcoming concerts, be sure to visit http://www.stubhub.com/britney-spears-tickets and also don’t forget to get your Britney Spears tickets to see Ms. Spears live onstage!

Britney Spears has reportedly obtained restraining orders against a former manager, Osama “Sam” Lutfi, and another against a former paparazzo, Adnan Ghalib, whom she dated. Both are accused of trying to orchestrate control of Britney’s professional affairs. Lutfi also stands accused by Spears’ mother of grinding up pills and putting them in Britney’s food as a way of confusing and manipulating her. Currently, Spears’ father is in control of her affairs, after Britney was deemed unfit to care for herself, much less her financial responsibilities. An attorney for Jamie Spears (Britney’s dad) says that both Lutfi and Ghalib have disappeared, although this has not been verified by other sources.

Spears is currently gearing up for a much anticipated tour that is scheduled to start in March, running through the middle of June. This musical journey is mostly in support of her most recent album, Circus, which dropped in December 2008. This, more than anything, was an attempt to orchestrate a massive comeback for the disgraced Spears, who just always seems to be down on her luck. The cover shows a sweet-eyed Spears, her face outlined by long curly locks of her golden-blonde mane and dressed in a fluffy pink dress. It sort of embraces the bad-girl-good-girl image that Spears initially marketed herself as?but this time it seems more appropriate.

Circus is surprisingly good, a relief for many of her concerned fans. Full of sugary sweet lyrics and a sleek, polished tracklist, it signifies a change in Britney Spears. She’s no longer that doe-eyed, inexperienced young pop star. She’s been through the ringer…several times, as emphasized by the frankness of the CD’s title. Instead of teasing or playing with listeners’ imaginations, Spears gives everyone a dose of straight-up candidness. She is in her element of sultry sexiness and she shows no signs of looking back. Spears’ image needs a major makeover, and this album might be the ticket to get the wayward Britney back on the right track.

Stevie Wonder – Heating Up the Grammys

The 51st Annual Grammy Awards are sure to feature some of the world’s top musicians. In fact some acts that are reportedly set to take to the glittery stage include: M.I.A., Robin Thicke, Neil Diamond and Smokey Robinson. But one musician stands out as truly one of the greats. Some might even venture to say that he is wonderful. Perhaps you know him: Stevie Wonder.

It’s no wonder that the folks orchestrating this whole Grammy Awards ceremony want the iconic figure to bask beneath the stage lights. He has many fans, not only in the United States, but around the world. These are people who love the deep hooks, classic grooves and soulful croons that comprise the R&B genre. Stevie Wonder was actually one of those fans, long ago, who became immersed in these unforgettable tunes. Blind since his birth, Wonder’s sense of heightened awareness of sound helped him appreciate music on a much deeper level than most people can grasp. He turned this heightened understanding of musical notes and tones into his own vibrant and colorful songs that emphasized the joys of life and encouraged listeners to be ambitious. For more information go to http://www.stubhub.com/stevie-wonder-tickets and get your own pair of Stevie Wonder tickets.

Stevie Wonder’s musical inspiration was none other than Ray Charles (similarities can be found in their styles of performing). In fact, one of Wonder’s first releases was entitled A Tribute to Uncle Ray, which featured covers of Charles’ own songs. A second album, The Jazz Soul of Little Stevie, was released around the same time and spotlighted Wonder’s instrumental skills on a variety of instruments including the piano, harmonica and the percussion. Keep in mind, Wonder had not yet even reached the teenage years when this pair of records was issued in 1962.

A year later, Wonder was still not very well known within the R&B circuit, but all that turned around when he released The 12 year Old Genius. The highlight of the record was the exceptional single, “Fingertips, Pt. 2.” The ballad shot straight to the top of the both the pop and R&B charts, much in part to Wonder’s youthful exuberance and undeniable skill as a recording artist. The late 1960s saw Wonder dipping his hands into actually providing the lyrics for many of songs, most of which made the Top Ten on the charts. Some of those irresistible numbers were: “I Was Made to Love Her,” “Once in My Life,” “Shoo-Be-Doo-Be-Doo-Da-Day,” “You Met Your Match” and “Yester-Me, Yester-You.”

The following decade signaled more success for the now well-known Wonder. The 1970s would be the era that captured the essence of his music and from then on it would stick in fans minds for years to come. Arguably one of the strongest R&B albums ever released, 1972’s Talking Book portrayed Wonder’s futuristic experiences with electronic tunes, gutsy-funk grooves and mellow jazz ballads. A couple of the most notable songs to emerge from the record were: “Superstition” and “You Are the Sunshine of My Life.” Both went on to win Grammy awards.

It is nearly impossible to accurately convey the impact that Stevie Wonder has made on the music industry as a whole since the very first time he picked up an instrument when he was a young boy, deprived of sight, but certainly not inhibited.

Tina Turner – Still Twistin’

Tina Turner is known best, perhaps, for her wild hair style and her high-energy shows that are guaranteed to leave the audience breathless, even if Turner seems barely winded. Some things just never change. Turner just recently performed a show at Madison Square Garden, and she really let loose her rough ways on the stage. Although Turner isn’t as young as she used to be, she still rocked out in a sequined, sparkly dress and performed all of the fast-paced hits that made her famous in the first place. Tina Turner has not released any new material in years, ever since she announced her retirement a decade ago, and yet there is a magical flair about Ms. Turner, and she certainly is not one to fade silently into the night.

At her recent concert in New York, Turner took fans on a whirlwind trip back to the 1980s when she was enjoying the peak of her success in the music industry. Audience members sang along to ballads like “Steamy Windows,” “What’s Love Got To Do With It” and “Nutbush City Limits.” Along with traversing energetically around the stage, Turner lit up the speakers with her fiery voice. And at the age of 69, Tina Turner still manages to turn heads. See her light up the stage with your own pair of Tina Turner tickets from http://www.stubhub.com/tina-turner-tickets.

Tina Turner was born as Anna Mae Bullock and would rise to become “The Queen of Rock and Roll,” particularly throughout the 1980s when her pop-music style was in top fashion. Over her many years of performing, she has traveled the world, blowing her listeners away with her powerful vocals and fast-paced live shows. She has been listed in Rolling Stone’s list of The Immortals-The Greatest Artists of All Time, and she is a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee. She has also been the recipient of eight Grammy Awards. Many people remember Turner for two of her most famous recordings: “River Deep-Mountain High” and “Proud Mary.”

Tina Turner always had a vast interest in music, and in 1960 she had an opportunity to record the song “A Fool in Love.” The song became an enormous R&B hit and reached number two on the U.S. Pop Chart. It was the start of her success and she ran with the opportunity to become a superstar in the industry. She gained mainstream attention in the 1960s and 1970s, especially when she recorded the hot songs “River Deep, Mountain High,” and others including “Come Together,” “Honky Tonk Woman” and “I Want to Take You Higher.”

Although her popularity seemed to decline as the 1970s came to a close and her marriage fell apart, Tina Turner persevered and staged one of the most impressive comebacks in music history when she roared into the 1980s. The song “What’s Love Got to Do With It,” was an immediate smash hit and can definitively go down in history as one of Turner’s most well-known signature songs.

As her recent performance in New York shows, Tina Turner still has the moves and the grooves and it doesn’t seem as if she’ll be slowing down one bit. See her strut her stuff live on stage at one of her upcoming shows.
