It’s official. “Legally Blonde” is a super hit! The story of this musical clicks with people from all walks of life and the strong performance of each character helps the show make an impact on the audience.
This is one show that has got a bulk of reviews in favor of it. Even the critics could not help but admit that the show harbors a strong sense of story and has left them speechless.
“Legally Blonde” is based on the MGM feature film that was a smashing hit and the novel written by Amanda Brown. This show has been directed and choreographed by Jerry Mitchell, a highly appreciated stage as well screen choreographer and the winner of Tony Award. The famous lyricist Nell Benjamin and Larry O’Keefe have shown their fine talent by providing amazing lyrics for the musical. The sets have been designed by David Rockwell.
The musical revolves around Bel Air’s favorite blonde, Elle Woods. One can say she has a fetish for pink, as she is seen in pink-clad attire almost throughout the show. She has a Chihuahua named Bruiser who is as fashionable as its blonde owner.
Elle’s boyfriend ditches her. This happens during graduation. However, Elle is no loser. Being a society star, she can’t tolerate “no”. So, gone is the old Elle who flashes her credit cards every now and then. When her boyfriend leaves her for someone else, a new Elle is born. She decides to enroll for Harvard Law School and get her boyfriend back. It is here that she recognizes her knack for legal issues.
“Legally Blonde” transmits the message that being yourself is the biggest thing we can do for ourselves. And for that, we need to be true to ourselves. Otherwise we can never realize what we actually are.
As the story proceeds, you watch a society star transform into a legal fighter. And don’t forget her cute Chihuahua, Bruiser! It’s going to be there like a loyal friend who seems to be equally interested in teaching its owner’s boyfriend some legal manners.
“Legally Blonde” stars Laura Bell Bundy, the brightest actor in Broadway. She makes the stage come to life with her superb acting skills. Besides her, Christian Borle plays the role of Emmett; Orfeh is Paulette; Richard H. Blake stars as Warner; Kate Shinle is Vivienne; Nikki Snelson plays Brooke; and Michael Rupert plays the role of Professor Callahan.
