Michael Jackson Vs Prince

What are the answers? At this new website we believe we have most of the answers from people who were there and saw what was going on first hand. A lot of people say if Prince’s music was so good and all that, why don’t we hear him on the radio like Beyonce, Snoop Dog, Kanya West and J- Z? That’s because most people don’t know how radio air play works. If Prince wanted a good song from a cd to be played in regular rotation he could get it done. All of the above mentioned artists paid anywhere from $200,000 to $1,000,000 million dollars to an Independent Promoter to be placed in regular rotation nationally. It’s got nothing to do with how popular you are (e.g. Beyonce). With their connections with the radio stations they get the job done. The music industry is another subject matter that must be discussed to educate the uninformed public of the inner workings of this vast empire and how Prince and Michael were both ripped off by the major labels, along with a long line of other entertainers.

What if Prince had stood next to and sang with Michael Jackson? What was their relationship like? How did they feel about each other personally and musically? What was it like to hear them on the radio like Beyonce? Michael Jackson VS Prince is a new website developed to further explore these mega superstars’ careers and musical contributions to the world. At one point Quincy Jones tried to bring the two of them together. What most people don’t know is that Prince was asked to appear on the Michael Jackson ‘Bad’ album of 1987. The new Michael Jackson VS Prince website has some of the answers to these questions regarding the two largest icons of the 21st century and how they felt about each other, these two of the largest egos in music. Michael was a star before anyone new who Prince was, so how did Prince feel about the Jackson 5 performing their music during his Minneapolis days?

The big fallout between Prince and the music industry came about for him not appearing on the ‘We are the world’ video, when he would have stood next to and sang with Michael Jackson. What was the hold up which could have seen the pairing of two of the biggest superstars of the music world? At this new website we will explore these questions.

How does Prince feel that his biggest rival is no longer with us? In 1984 James Brown performed at the Beverly Theater in LA and he invited MJ and Prince on stage, this being the only time both stars have been known to appear on stage together. With Michael no longer with us we wonder how Prince is feeling now that his biggest and only rival is no longer here. These and other questions we will answer on this website.

Michael Jackson still Number 1 in Europe

Michael Jackson continues to rule over the European albums chart, dominating the top 10 with six entries as the aptly-titled compilation CD King Of Pop sits at number one.

Sales of the late superstar’s back catalogue have surged in the weeks since his death on 25 June and his hits are still proving popular across the world.

Four other Jackson compilations feature in the continent’s top 10 – The Essential is in second place, The Collection climbs to number four, The Motown Years is at seven and Number Ones is at nine on the new countdown.

The biggest selling album of all time, Thriller, claims the third spot.

Meanwhile, in the European singles chart, rapper Pitbull replaces DJ David Guetta’s collaboration with Kelly Rowland at the top – the duo’s When Love Takes Over slips to two to make way for I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho).

The Black Eyed Peas score a double whammy in third and fourth place with I Gotta Feeling and Boom Boom Pow respectively, and dance act Cascada rounds out the top five with Evacuate The Dancefloor.

Michael Jackson’s Thriller: Track By Track

“Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin” – What a brilliant way to start this album. It’s a totally over the top song stuffed with so many beats, riffs, and unexpected surprises (“yee haw”) that it still sounds ridiculously fresh 27 years after it was first released. I think it’s worth noting that Jackson as a sole songwriting credit on this song. Not enough people give him credit as a songwriter. They want to write him off simply as an “entertainer” or as someone who just sang and danced but didn’t have any real creative input on his music. While he was an excellent singer and dancer, he was also an extremely creative songwriter.

“Baby Be Mine” – One of just two songs not released as a single which goes to show how great this album really is because this is an excellent song that I think could
have been a hit.

“The Girl Is Mine” – Most would agree this is one of the lesser songs on the album yet it was actually released as the lead single. That’s probably partly because MJ was so thrilled to have done a duet with Paul McCartney. Over the years this song has actually really grown on me and I enjoy it more today than I ever have in the past. Once you accept it for what it is, it’s really quite enjoyable.

“Thriller” – The music video for this song is so famous that I think the song itself actually doesn’t get enough attention. While Jackson didn’t actually write “Thriller,” it’s hard to imagine it being anything close to what it is in the hands of anyone else.

“Beat It” – Michael wrote this classic song himself. The inclusion of the blistering guitar solo by Eddie Van Halen gives this song a lot of crossover appeal to rock fans who may otherwise dismiss MJ’s music. Including such a guitar solo in this song is a great example of Jackson’s creativity and desire to push the boundries.

“Billie Jean” – Probably Jackson’s all time most popular song. It’s the song that he first moonwalked to (at the 1983 Motown awards.) And yes Jackson wrote this brilliant track himself. I’m not sure there’s any other song in the world that makes me want to dance more than “Billie Jean.”

“Human Nature” – This part of the album is probably what I enjoy most at this point because these songs haven’t been quite as “overplayed” as most of the rest of the album. I love this song. It was written by Steve Porcoro and John Bettis. Steve Porcoro was a member of the band Toto.

“P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing)” – This song just absolutely rocks. It’s somewhat lesser known because it’s never included on Jackson’s “Greatest Hits” albums but to me it ranks among his best songs.

“The Lady In My Life” – This one has grown on me over time but I’d still probably rank it as my least favorite song on the album. I think it starts off pretty weakly but I do really dig where it goes once it gets going.

Michael Jackson Tribute Biography By Gary Vine

Michael Jackson was unquestionably the biggest pop star of the ’80s, and certainly one of the most popular recording artists of all time. In his prime, Jackson was an unstoppable juggernaut, possessed of all the tools to dominate the charts seemingly at will: an instantly identifiable voice, eye-popping dance moves, stunning musical versatility, and loads of sheer star power.

His 1982 blockbuster Thriller became the biggest-selling album of all time (probably his best-known accomplishment), and he was the first black artist to find stardom on MTV, breaking down innumerable boundaries both for his race and for music video as an art form. Yet as Jackson’s career began, very gradually, to descend from the dizzying heights of his peak years, most of the media’s attention focused on his increasingly bizarre eccentricities; he was often depicted as an arrested man-child, completely sheltered from adult reality by a life spent in show business.

The snickering turned to scandal in 1993, when Jackson was accused of molesting a 13-year-old boy; although he categorically denied the charges, his out-of-court settlement failed to restore his tarnished image. He never quite escaped the stigma of those allegations, and while he continued to sell records at superstar-like levels, he didn’t release them with enough frequency (or, many critics thought, inspiration) to once again become better known for his music than his private life. Whether as a pop icon or a tabloid caricature, Jackson always remained bigger than life.

Here we provide a run down of the key dates that Michael Jackson has accomplished during his life.

1958 – Michael Joseph Jackson is born August 29, in Gary, Indiana, USA.

1962 – Joe, Michael’s father, organises a family musical group – it eventually becomes the Jackson 5

1970 – The Jackson 5 release ‘I Want You Back’, ‘ABC’, ‘The Love You Save’ and ‘I’ll Be There’ – they all top the charts

1972 – Michael Jackson scores his first number 1 single as a solo artist with ‘Ben’ – he also earns an Oscar nomination

1977 – Jackson stars in the movie ‘The Wiz’ with Diana Ross and meets Quincy Jones

1979 – Jackson releases his first solo album as an adult. ‘Off The Wall’, produced by Quincy Jones goes platinum, while singles ‘Don’t Stop ’til You Get Enough’ and ‘Rock With You’ top the charts.

1982 – Jackson releases ‘Thriller’, the album goes on to become the biggest-selling album of all time, staying in the charts for 2 years and hitting number one worldwide. ‘The Girl Is Mine’ – a duet with Paul McCartney, ‘Beat It’, ‘Billie Jean’, ‘Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’, ‘Human Nature’ and ‘P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing)’ all reach number one in the charts. Michael Jackson supports the singles with amazing music videos, turning them into mini movies with narratives, best shown on ‘Thriller’, widely acknowledged as the greatest video of all time.
